Bequest: Dinagyang Toon

In the spirit of the Dinagyang Festival a short animation of how the Dinagyang Celebration started will be featured: The BEQUEST: Origin Of Dinagyang. The animation is a combination of 2- and 3-dimensional animation formats.

This is due to the unceasing efforts of our own Illonggo animators... Specifically, the PGMA-TWSP scholar graduates who finished the Professional 2D Assistant Animators Training Program of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Western Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST) -- the Kuris Animation Unlimited and Ilonggohit Animation Studio.

In lieu with this is an animation exhibit that will be held at the Lower Ground Floor of SM City Iloilo from January 14-20, 2008.

According to The Daily Guardian, "The exhibit is a tie-up promotion for the special, one-night screening of the first animated short film of Iloilo Dinagyang Festival “The BEQUEST: Origin Of Dinagyang” Jan. 25, 7pm at SM Cinema 7. "

Before you could make your judgment, here is another work from the said groups of animators:

The exhibit will feature the original artworks and animated projects of the said groups of animators. And what's more the ticket will only cost more or less Php20.00. How convenient and surely it is something that Ilonggo's should be proud of. There is said to be free entrance to The BEQUEST screening and a chance to join the contest all you have to do are to visit the exhibit booth -- to be opened on Jan. 14 at 2pm, after the official ribbon cutting -- and register from January 14-20.

In line with this event are various animation lectures to be conducted by WVCST animation and activities such as the “Draw-A-Kuris-Character,” with artworks to be judged by Kuris Animators.

The event is presented by WVCST, TESDA, Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc., SM City Iloilo, SM Cinema, The Daily Guardian, GMA TV-6 and Deco’s Batchoy. Also by Mang Inasal, Waffle Time, Crest Spa Aroma, Coffeebreak and Iloilo Producer’s Association and Crest Salon. Minor sponsors are Panorama Printing Press, Salog Spa, Ciao! Pizza and Pasta Station, Crest Cafe and Nuat Thai Spa.
